There is no part of the magical self more actively supressed by society than the Seer. Healers can be taken advantage of, Mystics ridiculed, Sages accused of being boring and Magicians manipulated for their productivity. The Seer however, is unwelcome at the table in any guise. Because the Seer is a leader. The Seer can’t be fooled, manipulated, used or shamed.
How much easier you are to control without the Seer. How uncertain, eager to be told, reassured. Until the fluttering in your chest feels like foolishness, the flipping of your stomach is a sure sign you are weak. Those little intuitions that spark upon the surface of your consciousness are just fancies right? And even when you’re brave enough to follow them, it often doesn’t turn out the way you thought it would – because it isn’t you measuring the outcome, it’s the voice of society that shut you down in the first place.
Without access to the Seer we cannot hope to step into Eldership. We cannot hope to lead our communities and families with authenticity. We cannot hope to feel comfortable in ourselves or stop looking to others to affirm our value.
There are two primary ways the Seer can be blocked 1) suppression through fear or shame 2) isolation from the other parts of the magical self.

Here are some common experiences of the suppressed Seer:
- Overwhelm because there is so much suffering in the world, too many problems and no ability to choose which one is yours to do something about
- Total inability to trust your own intuitions leading you to defer to others and be bound by the dominant narrative in your culture, community or family – however harmful it is to your body, mind and spirit
- Stress and disease caused by prolonged repression of your own needs, desires and wisdom
- Intolerance of your own emotions and body sensations to the point where you may no longer feel them at all
When isolated the Seer becomes dominant and lacks the support of the other parts of the magical self. Decisions are based exclusively on your own, internal, version of reality. The Seer is incredibly potent but they need data and action from the Sage, Mystic, Healer and Magician to be ethical, purposeful and powerful. Without them the Seer can fall into:
- Isolated decision-making based exclusively on your preferred oracle – all other data is ignored
- Using and abusing others for your own gain
- Narcissism as the Seer becomes trapped in their internal world of needs and desires with no connection to relationships or purpose
- Intolerance to any emotions, sensations and intuitions other than your own
- Eventually, self-abuse can set in as the knowing of the Seer becomes painful with no outlet to express it; anything to numb the inner voice is fair game
Know anyone like that? It’s not uncommon for one, or even two parts of the magical self to survive into adulthood – but without the others they can be destructive.
There are deep ancestral, societal and personal woundings that have left humanity on a collision course with each other and our planet. If you feel them your magic is stirring – this is the voice of your leadership, the seed of the Elder looking for nourishing soil.
This year I launched Amplify your Magic to work with people who want to heal those wounds and reclaim the true potency of their magic. If you would like to step into my work and find out if its medicine is for you, join my next Reclaim your Magic retreat. There are 5, each nourishing one part of the magical self – which one is calling you to reclaim your power?
