I believe that every person holds a piece of the next stage of our evolution, a bright vision which is theirs to tend. Eventually all of us will face a moment when we have to decide whether to obey the rules or serve the vision. ” Read on for more wisdom from Odin’s Chariot in Othala, and the other planetary movements taking place this week.

As always, Middle Earth Readings for the week is published at the bottom of the page after the live event.

Heimdall is the watcher of the Gods; he can see across all the worlds and is said to be able to hear the grass itself growing. Himminbjorg means ‘heaven’s castle or heaven’s mountain’ and is located at the point where the rainbow bridge meets the realm of the Gods.  Dagaz, Fehu and Uruz can fall within Heimdall’s sphere in a birth runes chart.  Himminborg is equivalent to Cancer in the Zodiac.

Odin’s Chariot (Roman equivalent Mercury) in Othala speaks of the partnerships that make up our collective legacy.  Othala is the rune of estate and the ancestors.  Odin is well known for calling the greatest of warriors to his service but it is worth remembering that a true sovereign calls their people not to serve them, but to serve the vision they represent.  Odin’s commitment is to continued life; he stands against the destructive waves of darkness and forgetting.  From birth we are taught how to conform to the expected norms of the society we are raised in, we are shaped to ‘fit in’ – it’s a good survival strategy after all.  Yet, collectively, we are called not to survive but to evolve.  I believe that every person holds a piece of the next stage of our evolution, a bright vision which is theirs to tend.  Eventually all of us will face a moment when we have to decide whether to obey the rules or serve the vision.

Your destiny is defined by the choices you make right now. Tyr’s Chariot in (Roman equivalent Mars) in Mannaz calls us out to judgement. If you were the sovereign, if you were the answer, if it was your role to choose. What then?  Mannaz is the rune of humanity itself.  It may not be a battle-field but we are all still called to act with integrity, to do what is right and not what is easy.  Tyr’s way is the way of nobility, sacrifice and integrity.  He extends his hand to help us live up to our highest ideals.

We are currently in the half month of Dagaz, the rune of the day. The darkness of ignorance, terror, unknowing and despair gives way to enlightenment, comfort and hope.  Dagaz is not the darkness, but without the darkness we can never come to know it.
