Here’s your weekly update on what planetary movements are coming up. As always, Middle Earth Readings for the week is published at the bottom of the page after the live event.

Manni’s Chariot (the Moon) moves through one rune approximately every 24 hours. The edge of the new Moon is as a scythe cutting through what has come before and reaching towards desire, hope and purpose. It forms a moment for release, clarity and intention setting. Manni’s Chariot in Teiwaz encourages us to decisive, bold action. Teiwaz is the rune of action and victory which, combined with the new moon energy, supports us in seeing through fear and doubt to the possible future beyond. Your actions may be small, unnoticed, a simple step to make the possible more probable; the legacy you leave is more important than the pride, or the fear, of ego.

Odin’s Chariot (Roman equivalent Mercury) in Sowilo is a recognition of power and purpose. Although the northern tradition is full of allusions to ‘doom’ and ‘fate’ the Gods themselves are not averse to forging their own path. Odin is relentless in his pursuit of wisdom and enlightenment. Yes, the twilight of the Gods has been foretold – but as long as he’s got anything to do with it that twilight could be deferred for a long, long while. With the full light of the Sun upon his face he connects to his dream and his purpose. Things not going the way you planned? Switch tactics, plot a new route.

This week we move into the half month of Teiwaz, normally known as a rune of movement and action. Nobility of character could not be better exemplified than through the great Sky-God Tyr, patron of the Teiwaz rune. Tyr is a God of Justice and the sacrifice of his hand demonstrates the strength of his character and his understanding of divine justice – the rune Teiwaz can be used for aid in legal matters (as long as you have right on your side!) and was also worn by warriors to ensure victory.
