Manni’s Chariot (the Moon) moves through one rune approximately every 24 hours. The potency of the Full Moon energy is like a high tide leaving tracks in the sand as it departs – it forms a current over the coming month. Manni’s Chariot in Ansuz draws forth the ecstasy and wildness of Odin’s rune. Ansuz, the rune of the mouth of the Gods, opening, expressing, uttering. Dance, spin, speak, sing, run. Let the wild spirit within take hold and find expression through your body. Let this one precious moment be enough. Yield to freedom. Surrender to your own power.
Njord is the God of the benevolent sea that blesses us both with bounty and the spirit of adventure. Noatun means ‘ship-enclosure’; it is located on the edges of the great oceans of the heavens and is a place of safe harbour and preparation before any important venture. Sowilo, Teiwaz and Berkano fall within Njord’s sphere in a birth runes chart. Noatun is equivalent to Pisces in the Zodiac.
We are currently in the half month of Sowilo, a rune symbolising the energy of the sun. The rune brings blessings to sailors as it helps them navigate across the unknown waters and, for those on a spiritual path, it performs the same function – guiding us whether the waters are smooth or rough.
