Here’s your weekly update on what planetary movements are coming up. As always, Middle Earth Readings for the week is published at the bottom of the page after the live event.
Manni’s Chariot (the Moon ) moves through one rune approximately every 24 hours. The edge of the new Moon is as a scythe cutting through what has come before and reaching towards desire, hope and purpose. It forms a moment for release, clarity and intention setting. Manni’s Chariot in Thurisaz draws the shadow to the surface, exposing that which we have kept hidden out of fear or shame. It can be a force for healing and empowerment if we have the courage to face our darkness and look for the gifts it hides; often our greatest potential lies hidden beneath the shadow cast by our most brilliant light. At this New Moon Manni asks you what greatness you see in yourself that scares you. He offers his own light as a beacon, reminding us that life is too brief and too sweet to be shackled by dread.
Odin’s Chariot (Roman equivalent Mercury) in Ansuz offers the opportunity for you to connect with your inner wisdom, bring clarity to your vision and communicate your ideas with eloquence and passion. Ansuz is the rune of the mouth of the gods, inspiration and utterance. It is often thought of as a rune of air but it also connects to water as one of its meaning is ‘estuary’. It is an opening, an expansion outwards that supports fertility of the mind. Odin encourages us to speak our truth, even if we are not yet certain where it leads. If we spend all our time waiting until we are sure we are right, we miss the richest offerings of our own potential.
We are currently in the half month of Thurisaz, a rune which represents the forces of chaos – that which we fear, the powerful emotions and drivers lurking beneath the surface. Thurisaz power encompasses the subconscious, anger, passion, violence, attack and aggression.
