Here’s your weekly update on what planetary movements are coming up. It’s quite a busy week with four planetary movements but a strong ‘current’ of needing to increase our sensitivity to our environment and our inner world – even though it’s loud both without and within! As always, Middle Earth Readings for the week is published at the bottom of the page after the live event.

Sunna’s Chariot (the Sun) is now in Uruz the rune of the mighty aurochs, strength and formation. Uruz contains within it the wild spirit of nature and the peace of the vast earth. It calls us into integrity and opens our hearts to communion with the vast expanses of the soul. When we are struggling it offers both healing energy and the stamina to push through. Find its power in the bones of the earth, the wild blue of the open sky and the beat of the hooves of herd animals on the great plains of the earth. Honour it through keeping the secret promises of your heart and by tending to the partnership with the earth that each of us enters into as a creature of this planet.

Frigg’s Chariot (Roman equivalent Venus) in Ansuz reminds us of the gift of silence. Ansuz is the rune of the divine flowing through our lives, it is the voice of the Gods and the whisper of the soul. In our loud, loud world it is all to easy to drown out our own needs and to ignore the truth of our experience. Frigg is a seeress, known to see all but to maintain silence. This does not mean she keeps her knowledge to herself however, rather she knows two things: power comes from action more than words and, sometimes, fate is unfolding a greater destiny than we can yet grasp. The wise seek to work with the destiny they see rather than to critique it or destroy it. Listening to our own silence can be uncomfortable and noisy. The voices in our heads grow louder, the discomfort in our bodies more insistent. Yet behind them is the seeing eye of the soul that observes all, accepts all and knows how to draw the wisdom that your silenced soul has been crying out to communicate.

Odin’s Chariot (Roman equivalent Venus) in Fehu reminds us of the every day magics that make existence wonderful. The gift of a single flower. A donation you can afford. A kind word or gesture to someone in need. Eyes connecting in recognition and understanding. Fehu is the rune of life force, wealth and gold. It reminds me of the tale of Freyja who enters the realm of Asgard as a hostage (albeit an honoured one) and ends up teaching Odin himself the precious treasures of her earth and seidr magics. In this tale Odin reveals the power of a heart that is always open to learning and Freyja reveals the power of one who gives generously regardless of their circumstances.

Tyr’s Chariot (Roman equivalent Mars) in Ansuz speaks of the people whose actions give us permission to be the greatest version of ourselves. Perhaps their message, or their life is an example of what you didn’t even believe was possible. Or maybe they see and celebrate our potential. Ansuz is the rune of the divine manifesting on earth, flowing through our reality and taking root within consciousness. In Tyr we see a great king, a mighty warrior and a wise priest. He shares with us the truth; his fealty to his cause which makes him both powerful and vulnerable. Who are your singers? The ones who ignite your soul and call you into the actions that express your highest truth?

This week we move into the half month of Uruz, the rune of the aurochs; a great beast similar to the modern day bison that roamed Europe, Asia and North Africa. Uruz is often worn as an amulet to promote health and well-being. It is a truly elemental rune.
