Here’s your weekly update on what planetary movements are coming up. As always, Middle Earth Readings for the week is published at the bottom of the page after the live event.
Frigg’s Chariot (Roman equivalent Venus) in Fehu provides access to our individual magic, power and potential for manifestation. Fehu is the rune of cattle, wealth and life force. Frigg’s Chariot brings to light its many facets, asking us to pay attention to both our individual life force and the way in which we participate and partake in the symbiotic life force of our community and environment.
As the primal cow Audhumla Fehu is the unconditional giving of the mother; when we are in this energy the child-parent relationship is at the fore . We all need to give unconditionally and receive unconditionally at times; the key is doing so with intention.
As the Goddess Frigg it is the partnership between sovereign and realm; judgements are made about where you place your energy and when you withdraw it.
As the Goddess Freyja it is the majesty of the individual soul that burns brightly as the Lover; Freyja teaches us that passionate and ardent love of self is required if we are to give passionately and ardently to another.
Manni’s Chariot (the Moon ) moves through one rune approximately every 24 hours. The edge of the new Moon is as a scythe cutting through what has come before and reaching towards desire, hope and purpose. It forms a moment for release, clarity and intention setting. Manni’s Chariot in Othala reminds us that new beginnings spring from what has come before. We cannot change our situation by wishing alone; nor can we ignore where we have come from. We can, however, take charge of the legacy we plan to leave in turn.
Sunna’s Chariot (the Sun) is now in Dagaz the rune of the day, enlightenment, change and transformation. Dagaz is the union of opposites drawing all back to centre and enabling a new cycle of initiation and evolution to occur. Sunna’s Chariot is the bringer of Day, making this a particularly powerful combination. Time spent in meditation and contemplation will be rewarded. Opportunities seized will bear fruit. Openness to the unexpected will lead to a greater depth in your understanding of self and purpose in the world. One of the gifts of Dagaz is the way in which it collapses time so we can see the interconnectedness of all things. Imagine the moment a butterfly takes flight; this is the Dagaz moment and through its wisdom the butterfly understands that every moment, each part of the struggle, was a part of the creation of its ability to soar.
This week we move into the half month of Dagaz, the rune of the day. The shape of the rune takes us some way to understanding that things are more complex than they seem. The rune has two halves, reminding us that enlightenment only comes after ignorance, at the end of despair.
