Here’s your weekly update on what’s going on with the planetary movements and what events are coming up in the Hearthspace.
Odin’s Chariot (Roman equivalent Mercury) in Sowilo is a recognition of power and purpose. Although the northern tradition is full of allusions to ‘doom’ and ‘fate’ the Gods themselves are not averse to forging their own path. Odin is relentless in his pursuit of wisdom and enlightenment. Yes, the twilight of the Gods has been foretold – but as long as he’s got anything to do with it that twilight could be deferred for a long, long while. With the full light of the Sun upon his face he connects to his dream and his purpose. Things not going the way you planned? Switch it up.
Sunna’s Chariot (the Sun) is now in Berkano the rune of the birch tree and the Great Mother. This is a time of deep replenishment, new ideas, inspiration and growth. Connect with nature and look for inspiration in the spring growth. Berkano gives us access both to our bright dreams and to the wisdom of the shadow-self. Healing work will be blessed and go deep at this time. As you walk upon the re-greening earth remember that, like the Earth Mother, you have many faces and many offerings to give to the world. Sometimes the wisdom of the child, sometimes the gentle protection and guidance of the Elder. Sometimes the freedom of the wanderer, sometimes the authority of the sovereign. Each facet is a lens through which your authentic light can shine.
Manni’s Chariot (the Moon ) moves through one rune approximately every 24 hours. The edge of the new Moon is as a scythe cutting through what has come before and reaching towards desire, hope and purpose. It forms a moment for release, clarity and intention setting. Manni’s Chariot in Berkano (the birch tree) is a powerful alchemical combination. The youthful and desiring Moon God cleaves towards the emerging, powerful and fertile Spring Goddess. Magics for growth, initiation of projects and fertility will be powerful at this time.

This week we move into the half month of Berkano, the rune of spring and new beginnings. Berkano is helpful for female cycles, pregnancy and birthing. It is a gentle, sensual rune and has a protective element which makes it a good talisman for children (especially girls). Find out more on Berkano here.
