Here’s an insight into what we’ve got coming up this week; including how you can work with the energies of the planets and runes as well as a look at what’s going on in the Hearthspace.

Odin’s Chariot (Roman equivalent Mercury) in Nauthiz calls us to take the actions we know to be necessary – even if we don’t want to do them. Look for those serendipitous moments that push you towards choices that might be scary but you know deep down are the right ones.

Power runes: Sowilo, Dagaz and Algiz can be called on to support you in navigating your course. Laguz, Pertho, Berkano and Uruz can be drawn upon to aid healing and sooth battered spirits.

Frigg’s Chariot (Roman equivalent Venus) in Hagalaz reminds us that in the northern tradition the Gods themselves are mortal. Frigg knows well that her beloved son Baldur will die but she fights for him nonetheless. Just because the odds seem impossible, does not mean you should not try. In the years to come will you say to your children ‘I gave up because it was too hard’ or ‘I fought on because you were worth it’.

Power runes: Look to the runes that bring you strength and courage including your Sun rune and your First Thread. Uruz, Eihwaz, Sowilo and Teiwaz can also be called on.

Sunna’s Chariot (the Sun) in Isa calls forth the beauty and fortitude of the rune of ice. It calls us into mindfulness, stillness and presence to our current situation. This state offers both gifts and perils as we see ourselves clearly. Do not gaze too long or you will lose perspective and believe that this present moment is all that defines you. Meditation will be powerful at this time but it is imperative that it is followed by movement and warmth to revitalise the spirit.

Power runes: Runes that offer the gentle warmth of fire (Fehu, Wunjo, Sowilo), the swiftness of movement (Raidho, Ehwaz) and the gift of balance (Gebo, Dagaz) are helpful in managing the strong and intoxicating energy of Isa.

As we move into the half-month of Isa, you may wish to find out more on this rune and how to best work with it.  In which case, you can visit the Isa rune page here. On this page you can find  detailed information about Isa as well as two videos to help you deepen your connection with the rune:  Journey with Isa and Isa meditation.

Inspiration: hygge on Friday, November 27, 2020 at 12:30 PM UTC

The theme this month is ‘hygge’ drawing on Meik Wiking’s ‘The Little Book of Hygge: The Danish Way to Live Well’. Watch out for lives and posts about hygge in the run up to our event and please share links/ recommended reading in the forum on the topic. In the group we’ll discuss how we can bring a little bit of hygge magic into our lives.

This online event will take place in the private Hearthspace Facebook group which is part of our Hearthspace membership. The event will be made up of two parts: a live stream and a messenger room. Don’t worry if you can’t make it, the live stream will be available to watch even after the event has ended but the messenger room is only open for those who attend at the specified time.
