I don’t know about you but when I first saw the runes I just HAD to work with them. Many of my students find themselves called to work within the Northern tradition: sometimes a particulary deity or spirit guide comes forward; sometimes the beautiful Anglo-Saxon, Old Icelandic and Old Norse languages draw them in; sometimes the runes just keep on popping up, or the land they live on demands to be approached on its own terms.
All of my courses are characterised by a combination of teachings from ‘tradition’ and direct from spirit. This means that, if you want to learn about the runes you are going to learn their traditional meanings but you are also going to meet with spirit guides who will give you information and guidance about the runes which is personal to you. Equally, if you come on my northern shamanic training we will look at traditional practices of seidr and galdr but you will also be connecting with your own ‘soul clan’ – the connections you have to spirit which make up a base of power, wisdom and skill unique to you.

Distance Learning
Today we are able to do so much using multi-media. You tube, podcasts and Skype make it possible for us to work with the body and the voice (both powerful tools within the northern tradition) in addition to written information, assignments and feedback. You are able to work through the modules at your own pace with specific points for feedback and, of course, support available from me throughout your studies.
- Introduction to RuneCraft – COMING autumn 2012 – an introduction to working with the runes for self-transformation, divination and magic. Including a variety of practical exercises including making your own rune, creating a protective space, drawing a rune for divination, pathworking with a rune, leading a pathworking, and connecting to runic energies. You will also receive a free gift of ‘Journeys with the Elder Futhark’, a collection of pathworkings with each of the runes of the Elder Futhark.
- Introduction to Rune Casting – COMING autum 2012 – an introduction to working with the runes for seership and divination. You will meet with personal guides, learn how to do rune spreads, work with your own ‘birth runes’, and try your hand at rune casting with patterned cloths to assist your reading. You will undertake a number of case studies and will receive a free soul reading.
- Rune Practitioner – for rune workers who want to take their practice deeper. This intensive programme is divided into two ‘streams’ which complement each other but can be taken separately if you prefer. The Casting stream focuses on your Seership skills, taking you deep into the world of the runes and developing a variety of seership skills which go far beyond simple rune spreads. The Crafting stream focuses on using the runes for magic and self-transformation, you will work with guides, explore bind runes, galdr, voice work, body work and the limitless potential of rune work.
