Working with creativity and imagination is a very important part of my path. I loved singing, painting, clay and papier mache as a child and was a decidedly unconventional teenager with paintbrush in hand and decorators overalls at the ready.
I have always loved researching and writing both academically and creatively. I write regularly on the Northern tradition and shamanism in my blog and have also contributed to a number of books published by Avalonia - you can see details and extracts from these in my writer page. My current projects include a series of short stories about the runes of the Elder Futhark and a detailed reference guide for the Elder Futhark.
I have been singing since I was a child, starting off in choirs and musicals, singing in a duo at university and working as a wedding singer. I use song in a lot of my personal and group work and have recorded a number of devotional songs which are available for download.
You will find greetings cards and prints of my artwork direct from the UK in my shop as well as from the US via my on-line gallery. I also work creating unique power objects such as runes, casting cloths, soul and power paintings in silk, talismans, pentacles and more – have a look at my shop to see what is currently available!
On 1st July 2011 Shamanic Voice launched, a free podcast service founded by my business partner Kay Gillard bringing you insights, journeys, teachings and interviews with inspiring voices in today’s shamanism. I produce a monthly show called Shaman of the North dedicated to practitioners, past and present, whose work is rooted within the Northern traditions of ancient Europe.
